Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is not yet available as an option, Erik ten Hag has confirmed.
The 29-year-old left-back travelled to England with an injury but the United star recovered and was in fine form for the Euro 2024 knockout stages.
However, during the return to Carrington and training before the new season start, Shaw was injury and has not been involve with the Red Devils this season.
“First of all, Luke Shaw’s progress is good, but he is not available as an option,” Ten Hag said during a press conference on Monday.
“Of course we have a plan in mind about when he can be available again but it depends on how the recovery process goes. You cannot think or give advice (a timeframe for returning to the pitch) because there are many factors that can speed up or slow down the plan.
“For (Manuel) Ugarte, you will know tomorrow (Tuesday) ยูฟ่าเบท what the squad will look like,”
Meanwhile, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Leni Yoro, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund are still on the injured list.
Shaw will miss United’s opening Premier League game against Fulham on Friday, but the squad has been boost by the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. The pair, sign from Bayern Munich this week, are set to be involve at Old Trafford.
