Brazilian right‑back Emerson Royal has officially returned home. Completing a permanent transfer from AC Milan to his hometown club Flamengo on a deal extending until December 2028.
Milan confirmed Emerson’s departure shortly after the club allowed fellow defenders Theo Hernández and Kyle Walker to leave. As part of a wider reshaping of their defensive line. Reportedly, Flamengo paid a €9 million transfer fee to finalize the move.สมัครสมาชิก UFABET วันนี้ รับเครดิตฟรีทุกวัน
During his single season at San Siro, the 26-year-old featured in 17 Serie A matches, mostly under manager Paulo Fonseca. A calf injury early in the campaign disrupted his momentum. And following the managerial return of Massimiliano Allegri, Emerson was no longer in the club’s long-term plans.

Emerson’s European career began in Brazil with Ponte Preta and Atlético Mineiro before landing at Real Betis via Barcelona. And later moving to Tottenham Hotspur, where he made over 100 appearances.
Upon arriving at Flamengo, Emerson expressed confidence in the club’s ambitions. He acknowledged turning down other European offers. Including a near finalised deal with Turkish side Beşiktaş. Because Flamengo’s project aligned with his personal and career goals. The defender also highlighted his desire to return to Brazil’s national team and stated: “Without a doubt… what caught my attention was the squad, the great players and a great young manager”
This signing marks Flamengo’s second high-profile coup of the window. Following the arrival of Spanish midfielder Saúl Ñíguez. It underscores their intent to compete for both the Brasileirão and Copa Libertadores in the coming seasons.
